Tacos and peacocks

I just wanted to write a quick post about a couple of new places I’ve tried in the past couple of months.

My genius friends took me to Surfside in Glover Park about a month ago. I always thought it was a seafood kind of place and I really hate seafood. But this little gem is a great casual taco place.

First you pick what kind of tacos (I think they have other things too) that you want and fill out a custom form.

Surfside also has a good drink selection and pretty yummy margaritas that you can enjoy on the rooftop deck in the sun.

Yesterday, the husband and I went to the Peacock Cafe in Georgetown.

We liked it overall. Although, when I ordered the house chardonnay at the bar, the bartender gave me the most expensive chardonnay they had instead of the typically cheaper one. The food was good, but not extraordinary. They had a pretty good menu and my salad was delicious.

Overall, I would probably return to Surfside because you get a lot of bang for your buck and the rooftop was splendid. As for Peacock Cafe, well, there are so many good places to eat in the city!
