Nashville re-cap

This past weekend the husband and I went to Nashville for his brother’s graduation from Vanderbilt. We actually ended up at two different ceremonies — one for the overall campus and another for the Peabody College. It was quite a beautiful day for celebrations.

The rest of the time was just nice family time. I even got to take a nap.

After dinner Friday night at one of my favorite places (Mellow Mushroom), the in-laws took us to the Bunganut Pig to listen to some music. It is Music City after all.

It was fun and the hubby even danced with his mom. So sweet.

We also continued our hunt for great restaurants based on Guy Fieri’s stops on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Based on location and travel (Nashville is really spread out), we opted for Athens Family Restaurant.

My gyro was OK, but the lamb burger the hubby got —

Yeah, it was just as good as it looks on the show. Didn’t need any ketchup or other toppings at all.

We did a little shopping and some relaxing. In fact, I’ve become obsessed with finding this Michael Kors tote for a reasonable price.

And ordered-in from Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q. Yum.

On the way home, I was thinking about graduating myself the previous year from AU and how much has changed since then. I just wanted to say congratulations to all the new grads out there.

And just for a little feel-good grad vibes from AU …
