These are a few of my favorite things

The title kind of says it all. These a few things I’m loving.

Food stuff

Luna Bar — chocolate dipped coconut

OMG. Hands down the best “granola” bar I’ve found. It’s like a candy bar. It has 190 calories but 9g of protein and a ton of other vitamins. I’m no expert on nutriton so I can’t say it’s actually healthy. But damn, it’s delicious.

Yoplait yogurt frozen smoothies

I realize it’s probably more expensive and wasteful that just buying the ingredients on my own, but I love how convient these mixes are for making smoothies. And they just came out with a Greek Yogurt version with 10g of protein and a more individual sized portion.

Boathouse protein drinks

I realize I probably sound like I’m crazy about protein, but the husband starting buying these because they are usually on sale as compared to Odwalla or Naked Juice (I also love those). We usually split them because one bottle has too many calories, etc. The chocolate one is delicious. We mixed in just a bit of coconut milk we had left over and it was the most amazing thing I’ve ever tasted. OK, apparently I love chocolate and coconut together. Somoas anyone?

Cracked black pepper and sea salt triscuits

This is all the husband. He loves them. He won’t let me buy the regular kind. They are quite delicious. We’ve been buying Dubliner cheese to go on top. Also really great.

For some strange reason, I’ve become obsessed with mangoes lately. But why are they so difficult to cut? As per a recent Kashi commercial I tried just biting into one and that didn’t turn out too well.

Amy’s Kitchen – Tomato Bisque

I could eat this every day. The perfect tomato soup.

Health/ Beauty

I’m a huge sucker for pretty packages and tips in magazines. But here are some things that I actually have to use.

Clinique face cleanser 3-part system

For years I used the regular kind and then they released an acne one. I’ve heard that it’s the same as the Proactive system. Anyway I love it. I stopped using it for a couple of months since I didn’t have the money to go buy more. I started breaking out — the stress didn’t help. But then I start using it again and there’s a huge difference.

Urban Decay 24/7 concealer pencil

I love how thick this formula is and it’s in such an easy to carry and use pencil.

Moroccan Oil — shampoo and conditioner

The shampoo and conditioner work wonders on my tresses. I think I see a bigger difference on days I use these and not just the actual oil.

T3 Featherweight hair dryer

A few years ago when my hair dryer finally crapped out I went online to do some research into the Chi line. Then I read a ton of reviews on about the T3. It’s a bit pricey but if you are going to be using something everyday isn’t it worth it? Many of the reviews said the dryer stopped working after a year, but I’ve had mine for going on 4 years. Seriously love it. I hate traveling and having to use other hair dryers now.

Cover Girl NatureLuxe Mascara & SmokyShaow Blast eyeshadow (in Bronze Fire)

Again, I’m a total sucker for advertising. But I love this Cover Girl mascara because it doesn’t feel too goopy, or run too much. It’s very light but makes my eyelashes super long/full. I like the ease of the eye shadow stick.

Oh, how I love my iPhone.

Instagram — You mean all these photos on the blog don’t give that away?

Open table – So easy to make a reservation on the go.

Flixster — To quickly find out what movies are playing at theaters close by. Seriously, what did I do before smartphones?

Coin Flip — Who carries coins around?

WordPress – for quickly uploading photos to this here blog

Diptic — for editing photo montages for this here blog

Spotcycle — for finding the nearest bicycle station for D.C.’s Bikeshare.

DrinkFit–This app tells you calorie counts for specific adult beverages. It’s great to be able to know whether to go with the whiskey or the vodka or just to say the hell with it.

Hey Tell — no lie, my best friend recommended this and it’s awesome. You send quick message walkie-talkie style. At first I didn’t quite get it, but yeah, I need more people to start using it.

iExit — for when you are on a road trip and you need to stop for food or gas or some other essential but you want something specific, like Chik-Fil-A or a BP. This App locates where you are and tells you what is off the exits at the next few exits. There’s a light version and a paid version. It’s worth the $1.

Other apps I’ve recently downloaded: Wonderful Days, Redbox, Horoscope, ShopList (for my grocery list), ideeli, and Songkick.

Taxi Magic and Pedometer are also pretty great too. What am I missing?
